PROJECT OUTCOME Michuda Construction successfully completed a comprehensive renovation of John Hancock High School, originally constructed in 1926. This project focused on modernizing and expanding the facility while preserving its historical significance, creating an enhanced educational environment for students and faculty.

PROJECT SCOPE Michuda Construction provided General Contracting services for the renovation and expansion of John Hancock High School. The project included a combination of interior upgrades, new construction, and targeted noise mitigation measures due to the school's proximity to Midway Airport. The scope encompassed:

• New Windows: Installation of energy-efficient windows to provide noise abatement from Midway Airport and enhance the building's energy efficiency.

• Lighting Upgrades: Replacement of existing lighting with motion-sensor controlled, energy-conserving fixtures throughout hallways and bathrooms.

• New Flooring and Paint: Installation of new flooring and fresh paint throughout the facility to create a modern, clean, and vibrant learning atmosphere.

• Air Conditioning and Heating: Comprehensive HVAC upgrades, including air conditioning and heating system enhancements for optimal climate control.

• Classroom Annex Construction: Construction of a new annex for state-of-the-art science labs, expanding the school's capabilities to support STEM education.

• Expanded Classrooms: Modifications to existing classroom spaces to accommodate larger class sizes and provide flexible learning environments.
