PROJECT SCOPE Michuda Construction provided General Contracting services for the renovation and expansion of John Hancock High School. The project included a combination of interior upgrades, new construction, and targeted noise mitigation measures due to the school's proximity to Midway Airport. The scope encompassed:

  • New Windows: Installation of energy-efficient windows to provide noise abatement from Midway Airport and enhance the building's energy efficiency.

  • Lighting Upgrades: Replacement of existing lighting with motion-sensor controlled, energy-conserving fixtures throughout hallways and bathrooms.

  • New Flooring and Paint: Installation of new flooring and fresh paint throughout the facility to create a modern, clean, and vibrant learning atmosphere.

  • Air Conditioning and Heating: Comprehensive HVAC upgrades, including air conditioning and heating system enhancements for optimal climate control.

  • Classroom Annex Construction: Construction of a new annex for state-of-the-art science labs, expanding the school's capabilities to support STEM education.
